Magway Region Investment Committee

For the purpose of investment development, investment facilitation and services related to investment in Magway Region, the Magway Region Investment Committee was formed with seven members on 4th February, 2022 in accordance with notification no. 10/2022 by Myanmar Investment Commission. The seven members of the committee are as follow:

Investors who desire to do investment in Magway Region in accordance with Myanmar investment law, can apply for investment endorsement valued up to 5 million US dollars for foreign direct investment and joint venture or 6,000 million Kyats for Myanmar citizen Investments to Magway Region Investment Committee and obtain endorsement, except for the businesses listed in Article 36 of the Myanmar Investment Law. Investors can benefit Land Use Rights enacted in Chapter 12 of Myanmar Investment Law and Tax exemptions or Reliefs either a concession or more than one or all in Section 75, 77 and 78 by applying tax incentives after obtaining endorsement.

When investors apply for Endorsement Application Form 4(B), the approval letter or permit or similar documents of the relevant governmental departments according to the type of investment must be submitted. According to section 37 of Myanmar Investment Law, the committee’s office conducts necessary verifications and accepts the approval form. If the form is not complete, it can be prepared and resubmitted again. Magway Region Investment Committee meetings are regularly held at least once a month in order to discuss and decide on matters related to investments operating in Magway Region and new investments submitted to the Committee.
